Young and Alive Initiative (YAI) is a Tanzanian youth-led non-profit organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania , founded in 2015 by passionate young professionals and fully registered in 2017 with the registration number 00NGO0009083. The Young and Alive Initiative approach is investing in young people’s talents and skills through Innovation, art, and ICT to advocate for youth’s access to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights services and information in Tanzania. Our vision is to see a Society where young people have full access and full choice of Sexual Reproductive Health information and Services and can exercise their rights. We are doing that by capitalizing on young people's potential including vision, talents, and innovation in unlocking their leadership towards positive disruption within the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights spectrum in Tanzania.
With support from Grand Challenge Canada, Young and Alive will be implementing a contraceptive conversations project, a project aiming at providing sexual and reproductive health information to adolescents and young people in Tanzania.
Young and Alive are seeking a project coordinator to facilitate the implementation of this project in Mtwara Tanzania for a period 12 Months with expectations of extensions. This project will include working with a student of sexual health club based in Mtwara, a digital component of online provision of SRH information through social media and also involving working with health care providers based in Mtwara Tanzania.

Qualifications & Experience
A young person from the age 18- 35 years old with a minimum qualification of a diploma or bachelor degree in social sciences, public health, gender studies, medicine, nursing and or project management.
Having experience of working or volunteering in sexual and reproductive health projects , gender and or research.
Good communication skills, team working, youth engagement, cultural sensitive and non partisan individuals.
Excellent in social media communication and engagements or having courses in digital skills.
Good interpersonal skills
Good basic computer and internet skills.
Fluent in speaking Swahili & English
Good Swahili & English writing skills
Good report writing skills
Roles and responsibilities
Working on all deliverables of Contraceptive conversation hand in hand with project lead.
Working with the Young and alive team and student led sexual health club in Mtwara to develop SRH (Sexual and reproductive health) outreach programs.
Support clinical medicine students sexual health club to provide SRHR education in schools and teachers training colleges in Mtwara.
Supporting evaluations of SRH education in schools based in Mtwara.
Supporting clinical medicine students sexual health club in responding to SRHR questions through social media.
Linking young and alive initiative, clinical medicine student sexual health club with health care providers in Mtwara.
