About Us
Young and Alive Initiative (YAI) is a Tanzanian youth-led non-profit organization based in Mbeya city, founded in 2015 by passionate young professionals and fully registered since 2017. Young and Alive have offices in Dar es Salaam. Our approach is using young people’s talents and skills through Innovation, art, and ICT to advocate for youth’s access to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights services and information in Tanzania.
With support from Amplify change fund, Young and Alive Initiative are implementing YAI fellowship project, a project aiming at building capacity to 20 young people aged 15-24 years on three leadership tracks which are service delivery, advocacy and social entrepreneurship on sexual and reproductive health.
Young and Alive is seeking for a consultant to develop a curriculum to be used on capacity building young leaders.The consultant will work with young and alive in a period of 12 Months. Based on the three leadership tracks that are service delivery,Smart advocacy and social entrepreneurship in SRHR.
Job Title: SRHR leadership curriculum-consultant.
Qualifications & Experience
A person with a minimum qualification of bachelor degree in social sciences, education, medicine and gender, a masters degree will be an added advantage.
Having at least 3 years experience in SRHR advocacy projects this includes advocacy programs on family planning, HIV/AIDS and addressing gender based violence.
Knowledge and 1 year experience of working on social entrepreneurship in the health sector.
Experience of working with young people and adolescents in SRHR issues
Good communication skills,team working, youth engagement, cultural sensitive and non partisan individuals.
Good interpersonal skills
Good basic computer and internet skills.
Fluent in speaking Swahili & English
Good Swahili & English writing skills
Good report writing skills
Roles and responsibilities
To develop and present a curriculum on sexual and reproductive health and right leadership to the Young and Alive Initiative.
Working with Young and Alive to facilitate a group of young people on SRHR leadership.
Prepare timely progress reports to program coordinator
