December Newsletter is Out Now!

2022 was such a fun-filled and we have it all documented for you. Here is what you might have missed.




Young & Alive Initiative took part in last year's momentous gathering at the International Conference on Family Planning as part of the delegates from across the #SRHR field from November 14th - 17th 2022 hosted in Pattaya City Thailand. We were represented by our C.E.O. Sesilia Shirima, Managing Director Otuck William and Director of Program Innocent Grant

Innocent Grant also participated in representing our organization at the GRA group, a group that convened to prepare adolescents and young people for sexual and reproductive health and the right global plan of action, this document was launched at the ICFP and promoted via a campaign called #letthemknow.

The Managing Director Otuck William with his artistic charisma oversaw the activities at the ICFP as one of the FP Ambassadors together with our long-time friends Lulu Diva our Tanzanian artist, through this she showcased her talent and understanding of # SRHR-related issues, and Trevor Arnett an International artist who has been with us in many activities championing the work Young & Alive Initiative does towards the community throughout the years.

The SBCC summit took place from December 5-9 which two of our colleagues participated. Otuck William who served as a member of the Entertainment subcommittee and Otuck and his colleague Trevor from the United States performed at the opening reception and the closing plenary of the SBCC summit in Marrakech Morocco.


Our Colleague Innocent Grant served as a youth champion of the SBCC summit and a member of a plenary subcommittee...


The Youth Summit aimed to reposition the national adolescents and youths' Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) agenda towards a narrative owned by Tanzanian adolescents and youth.

It aimed at amplifying adolescents' and youth voices on how the societal structures and systems are responding to their Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) related needs.

The three days dialogue which was opened by Hon. Kheri James, DC Ubungo, addressed key priority areas for young people in Tanzania...

220 youth participants from across the country from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations. It has shown from their attendance how much youth are interested in learning about #SRHR but also how much youths are to be mobilized nationally to participate fully in decision-making tables.

On the 29th of November,2022 our colleague Ms. Fatmah Suleyman from Communications attended The International Women Human Rights Defenders Day in Dodoma organized by the Coalition for Women Human Rights Defenders (CWHRDT)...

On the 8th of December 2022, Fatmah along with Mr. Elibarick our M&E also attended a Webinar on Ending Violence against Women and Girls hosted by the African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) from Nairobi, Kenya.....

At the TGNP Annual Stakeholders’ Reflection Meeting to be held in Dar es Salaam at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.


Various stakeholders were able to evaluate where we came from, where we are and where we are going in our movement against gender violence and youth empowerment.
